Application for Citizenship by a Malaysian Mother (Married to a Foreigner) for Child Born Abroad |

Child
born abroad can be registered to be a Malaysian at any
Malaysian Mission overseas on the conditions:
- Mother of the child is a Malaysian Citizen at the time of birth
- Registration
is made within 10 month from the date of birth
- Marriage has been registered before the birth of child

To request, please provide:
Self addressed, stamped envelope.
Application must be submitted in-person, please make an appointment at (213)892-1238. |

Documents required are as follows:
- Parents
original passport and photocopy
- Mother's original Malaysian Identity Card and photocopy
- Mother's
original Birth Certificate and photocopy
- Original
and photocopy of Malaysian Marriage Certificate
- Original
and photocopy of Child's Birth Certificate
- Copy
of Parent's Green Card or Current U.S. Visa
- Three
(3) recent passport size photographs of your child.

- Registration
fee of US$4.00 payable to Consulate General of Malaysia.
The Consulate is not responsible for
documents lost in mail.

*NOTE:
- Upon approval, applicant must come to collect the Citizenship Certificate personally and to complete Lampiran C.15(2). The Consulate General will notify applicant once the application is approved.
- All applications must be signed by the child's Mother only.
- Child has to be present at the Consulate at the time of appointment for thumb print .
- All applications for children born before 1st January 2010 must be submitted personally to the National Registration Department in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
