Legalization of Documents
 
Legaization of all documents originating from U.S., i.e. Certiffcate of Free Sale, Export Certiffcate, Birth, Marriage, Death, Copy of USA Passport etc.
 
  1. Certificate must first be notorized by Notary Public using his/her name exectly as it appears on the notary certificate of appointment and the stamp or seal. Birth, Death, Marriage and Non-Marital Status certificates must be certified by a recognized official in the county where the event was recorded or certified by Registrar of Vital Records.
  2. Then, send the notorized documents to the Secretary of State or Office of the Lieutenant to be authenticated by the Apostille and Certificate Program of the Corporations Division.
  3. Finally submit the documents to the Consulate for necessary legalization along with fee of U.S. $7.00 (Money Order or Cashier’s Check Only, made payable to the Consulate General of Malaysia) for each Consulate General’s signature.
  4. For the return of your passport and documents, please complete mailing address information and provide at least $30.00 money order, made payable to FEDEX or an airway bill with your FEDEX account number.

    The Consulate is not responsible for
    documents lost in mail.

 
*NOTE: Please enclose a copy of each document for the Consulate General's filing purposes. Maximum processing time for legalization of documents is 3 to 4 working days.
